New Dolls!

Here's what's new at Unique Designs.

Christmas Doll

This OOAK doll was made as a raffle for our Holiday fair. She is a stump doll made from a candlestick holder. Face is sculpted from paperclay and her arms are wire with cloth overwrapping. Her green velvet dress was made from a velvet dress I found at a thrift store. The beading in the back was already on the dress and was used by piecing it. Her face is handpainted using acrylic and watercolor paints.

Ruthie Dolls

Here are my new little Ruthie sock dolls. They are made from socks, and I got the idea from a 93 year old woman who lived at the nursing home where I worked years ago. She made these dolls by hand for our fundraising fairs.

I hope I did her justice. I named them Ruthie Dolls after her.

They are wonderful to give as gifts as each one carries a heart with an inscription on it. they are great for yourself to hang in your home to make you smile each time you look at it.

Thrift Store Challenge

Here is a doll made also with the silver doll-ers doll club for a Thirft store challenge. We had to go to 4 thrift stores and we could only spend 20 min in eas store and only $20.00 total for the day. Then we had to use whatever we bought to make a doll. Here is my version.

Parts challenge

Here is my doll from the part challenge held with the Silver doll-ers doll club in Las Vegas. We each got different type & size body parts and had to make a doll from them. I made "Throught the Looking Glass" which one a prize.
